Blue Movie

When I heard about this cocktail, I needed to make it! Absolut Berri Acai is a sweet dry tasting vodka with fruity flavours that’s rarely used in cocktails!

Blue Movie

Serving One

37.5ml Absolut Berri Acai

12.5ml Blue Curacao

25ml Apple Juice

12.5ml Lemon Juice

5 Blueberries (garnish)

Fill milk bottle with crushed ice, add ingredients to shaker, give it a really good shake. Strain cocktail into glass then garnish by dropping blueberries into the drink, use a straw to push blueberries down.

I love this cocktail and it’d be amazing to make it again one of the problems that I ran into is that it requires a lot of crushed ice and as I use a hand crank ice crusher by the time I’ve gotten enough crushed ice for 2 cocktails the ice has already begun to melt.

What’s holding me back is my 50mm lens which is only good for super close ups where’s if I’d were to buy a 18 – 55mm lens I’d be able to get long shots easier which weren’t as exposed.

Strawberry Dawa

A beautiful zesty citrus cocktail spin on the Dawa.

Serving One

50ml Absolut Citron Vodka

4 – 6 Strawberries

1 Lime

Dash of Strawberry Syrup

Crushed Ice

Quarter the lime add to a lowball glass with strawberries then muddle pour over the strawberry syrup, add crushed ice. Drizzle vodka finally add stick to stir.

So many flavours and such a fruity taste, tasting this recipe was a little to tangy due to the full lime although that gives the drink volume, next time I’m going to go for 15 – 25ml strawberry sryup see how that effects the flavour.

White Lady

This drink requires a lemon spiral. This garnish is essential for this cocktail as it takes the edge off the alcohol and makes the drink more zingy.

Serving One

37.5ml Gin

25ml Lemon Juice

12.5ml Cointreau

Lemon Spiral

To create a lemon spiral you cut off the ends of a lemon then using a barspoon you scrape around the piff and flesh part on both sides, then when you have done this cut down the peel releasing it from the lemon. Lemon spiral video tutorial

Shake all ingredients then pour into a martini glass. Place lemon spiral in the drink.

The cocktail has bold flavours, it’s really powerful in taste, without the lemon spiral releasing lemon oils into the beverage it’d be far too strong.

Sapphire Martini

This cocktail is deadly, not one of the most amazing in turns of flavour, I was in the mood for something blue and strong!

Serving One

50ml Gin

25ml Blue Curacao

Glacier Cherry

Place glacier cherry into bottom of martini glass then pour gin then blue Curacaostir then serve.

I’ve made a similar drink to this before which has a lot more complicated flavours in, you can find it here.  Blue Arrow

Hot Toddy

Recently I had been under weather with a cold and this drink helps relieve the symptoms.

Honey is a natural antiseptic, lemons are high in vitamin C and alcohol is a depressant which eases a cough, as long as you only have a couple of these drinks it’ll help ease you through sickness.

Serving On

50ml Drambuie (or Whisky)

1 Tablespoon Honey

3 Lemon Wedges

Hot Water

Pour Drambuie into mug with lemon wedges and teaspoon of honey, mix with boiling hot water.

This drink really eases a cold and tastes great, I used drambuie instead of whisky to sweeten it.

Mojito

One of my favourites, it’s a great basic to work with and there’s so many variations I’ve made Pineapple Mojito, Blueberry and Kiwi Mojito.

The Slug and Lettuce does a fantastic spin on this called Bramberry Mojito which is replace 1 msr of Rum with Chambord and use Pomegranate juice instead of Soda Water.
